Values are estimates: prescription volumes from Japan's NDB Open Data (Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare; excluding public-expense claims), FY2015–FY2024, multiplied by the NHI reimbursement price of each product at the time of each release (nominal). All strengths and brands of the molecule are combined. Japanese fiscal years run from April to March (FY2024 = April 2024 – March 2025). Until FY2023 the NDB lists only the top products by volume in each therapeutic class; years in which a molecule is not listed are shown as “not listed”. Growth rates compare the same products in consecutive years and are chained; the 3-year rate is not shown when the base year value is below one tenth of the latest year.
